if there are no dogs in heaven I write the books, drawing is looking leather doesn't forgive not all those who wander, pilgrim home

If there are no dogs in heaven, then when I die,
I want to go where they went.

There have always been dogs in my life; from my grandfather's police dog, the Papillon from home, my Siberian huskies and Alaskan malamutes, to our present Rhodesian ridgeback and beagle.
I trained my sled dogs; in the winter months I could be found in the snow.
With our Rhodesian ridgeback I walked the Camino Primitivo, the silent pilgrimage way to Santiago de Compostela through the mountains of Asturias and Galicia.
Our beagle Guus is a lovely stubborn hunting dog, who increasingly gets a supporting role in my books.
